What WT have meant for me

The fact of being an international student made my decision to come to WT more risky than my fellow classmates. I had few inputs of Wes Texas A&M University before I first came to Canyon, my first time in the US too. Actually, I had no idea how attending college in the Unites States would be. One tries to make the best decision according to the information that one can gather from the other side of the world. Therefore, I came to WT somewhat blind and hoping to have made the best decision choosing this school. However, after this three years enjoying and learning in this institution I happy to state here what I have been telling to anyone that asked me. I think that I could not make a better decision. There is nothing in WT that makes me feel it is not the perfect school.

Regarding the Communication Department, it is difficult to find another school with such a good facilities and opportunities but doubtless what makes the communication department reach excellence is the professionals. I am not talking only about the professors, which not just teach concepts and theories, but also all the personnel in the department. All Professors I had from this department has transmitted me the passion of the different parts of the broad world that is communication. WT learning program transcend the classroom and teach you the real world. Probably, the classes that I more enjoyed have been those that have gone further that a regular class. These classes obviously implied huge amounts of work, yet it was practical work, which is the work that we, the communicators, love to do.

In addition, I want to emphasize the rest of classes I took at WT has been or I believe they will be remarkable and worth to take. From a basic computer science class to all the high electives such as Sport Psychology. This classes have allowed me to learn either things out of my comfort zone or basic skills for the professional world.

Furthermore, in addition to the Communication Department, the other micro community I have experienced the most here at WT has been the Track & Field team. WT athletics and specially the Track program strive to create great individuals. I am highly proud to be part of this team and. The coaches are doing a great job not just on the track but outside to. They build great individuals that will improve our society in the future. But also I am highly proud of all my teammates for they effort to put WT at the top.
